As an artist, Judith is impassioned by the magnificent mysteries of nature. From the intricacies huddled within the protective cover of tulip petals to the silent beauty of a deep winter snowfall, she is inspired to communicate her awe, and respect for the profound beauty that envelops all of us. Her artwork focuses on florals, still life, landscapes and seascapes. Currently Judith is exploring the intricacies of nature at an intimate level.
She paints both on location and in the studio. While on site multiple sketches in varied compositions, and small paintings are created then the subject is photographed. In the studio Judith delves deeper into her subject developing numerous studies and compositions until one excites her. This in turn is developed into the final piece.
Judith has won several awards and has been juried into many regional art shows. She is a member of Art Space Gallery, the Kennebec Valley Art Association, Boothbay Regional Art Association, and American Watercolor Society. Her work can be found on covers of maps, in Maine Home and Design, and Art Collector Maine Anthologies.
Though art is her passion, Judith has many other facets in her life. She is a veterinarian, certified in Homeopathy, and owner of the Animal Wellness Center. Creator and director of the Companions for Life, a non profit organization to help the terminally ill keep their pets, and to help women escaping domestic violence by providing a safe haven for their companions.
